To celebrate James' 9th birthday we went to Flamingo Land with Rosie and her parents. The weather was lovely and warm and a ood day was had by all!!

The Cave
History of Ebberston.
Ebberston is a small village straddling the A170 between Scarborough and Pickering. The current population is about 400. The village largely consists of stone built properties with red pantiled roofs, several working farms, market gardens and local craftsmen.
The above picture is of the Stone Cave where King Alchfrid of Northumbria was reputedly laid to rest in A.D. 704 after being wounded in battle.The battle took place in a field opposite St Marys Church, now known as Bloody Field.
Ebberston also boasts "the smallest stately home in the country".Ebberston Hall was built by a member of the Hotham Family in the style of a Palladian Villa. The house was built for his mistress, however she was less than impressed with it and never actually lived there.
Our house was built in the 1970s by Mr & Mrs Clyde as their family home. (Kay Clyde owns The Foxholm B&B next door). We have lived here since 2000.
